Ziptrek Ecotours is excited to announce the return of its popular Locals’ Day event.
Southern Lakes and Central Otago residents are invited to experience the exhilaration of zipping through the trees, high above Queenstown for just $50pp on Sunday 13 November, with 50% of proceeds going to charity.
This year, Sustainable Queenstown has been named the lucky recipient of the annual community fundraiser.
Funds raised from the Locals’ Day event will help cover costs for the Sustainable Queenstown x KiwiHarvest food rescue event in November.
Hosted at Millbrook Resort, this dinner will challenge chefs to create a three-course meal using rescued and donated food. The unique event will shine a light on the environmental problem of food waste going to landfill and act as a fundraising evening for both charities through ticket sales and a silent auction, allowing both groups to continue their incredible mahi in the Whakatipu.
Locals can join in on the zipping fun from 10am, Sunday 13 November with departures from the Ziptrek Treehouse every ten minutes.
Bookings are required and can be made online using code, LOCALS22.
✔️ Proof of residence will be required at check-in.
✔️ Minimum age 6 years.
✔️ Max weight limit 125kg.
Previous locals events held by the multi-award-winning Queenstown operator have raised over $100,000 to date and supported and range of community groups including, Lakes Family Centre, Youth Booth, Wakatipu Search & Rescue, Kiwi Birdlife Park, St Johns Ambulance, Queenstown Scouts and Wakatipu Reforestation Trust and most recently, Branches Charitable Trust
